Finding promotional items for convention giveaways that are memorable and last longer than the event itself are hard to find. Promoting your chemistry related organization, a bit of a “dry” subject to say the least, makes it even harder.  What better way to change that than to offer something that can hold a beverage? The Michigan Chemistry Council has handed out our 250ml glass beakers that we branded with their logo at 3 successive conferences with favorable feedback at all of them. Find out how we helped solve Michigan Chemistry’s branding and swag needs.

Michigan Chemistry Council

The Michigan Chemistry Council (MCC) is an industry trade organization representing members including chemical manufacturers and distributors in the state. Founded in 1967, the MCC recently celebrated its 50th anniversary and now represents more than 30 Michigan companies.

With an office near the state Capitol in Lansing, the MCC focuses on efforts including advocacy, public relations, communications. It serves as an industry liaison, and facilitates networking and shared expertise.

Chemistry Swag?

Like many other groups, the MCC regularly hosts events for its members as well as participates in other conferences and shows. The MCC’s Executive Director, John Dulmes, was looking for a relevant and memorable item to promote the organization. “So many promotional items are generic, low-quality despite their price, and not very useful. We wanted something for which people would remember us.”

Chemistry Swag-Branded Beakers!

The MCC found that Indigo Instruments offered custom-printed glass labware. We worked with Indigo to find a suitable size for giveaways. We order a couple hundred at a time and have them printed with our logo in a different matching color each time. We’ve now used them for several years at our own events with elected officials and other state policymakers. They unmistakably represent our membership.

We also use them as giveaways for our outreach at the state convention for science teachers, who absolutely love receiving them. The great thing is that they’re about the same price – if not cheaper – than other “swag” products that don’t get kept.”
